New Self-Directed CE Category: Disaster Mitigation and Recovery
As all are aware, at the end of September, Western North Carolina was devastated by excessive rain, flooding, landslides, and wind from Hurricane Helene. To encourage landscape architects to use their expertise to assist in recovery efforts, the NC Board of Landscape Architects voted on October 23, 2024 to allow NC licensed landscape architects to obtain up to ten hours of self-directed Continuing Education Credits (CE) for the performance of volunteer landscape architectural services related to disaster mitigation and recovery.
- Licensee can report up to ten hours of the new CE category
- Licensee must make application for each activity and write a 250 word essay - the application is available on the CE page of the website.
- One hour can be claimed for every (2) hours of service
